Integrated flight control system including GPS. Easy to operate and very stable. Makes aerial filming fun and easy. Comes with a GOPRO mount and remote control.

The compact and highly integrated design of the PHANTOM is unlike any other UAV on the market. It’s cutting edge technology coupled with it’s gorgeous exterior make the PHANTOM a serious PROSUMER UAV that will attract crowds wherever you fly.

The hardware mounting and software tuning are all done before delivery. THE PHANTOM is ready to fly the moment you unpack the package, just charge the LiPo, install the landing gear and propellers and you’re ready to fly!

Phantom contains a remote controller and receiver, so you don’t have to worry about going out and finding the right controller. The only thing you need to do is to add 4 AA batteries. The 2.4 G ISM frequency of the controller has a distance of up to 300 meters. The frequency hopping anti-interference design allows multiple remote controllers to work at the same time, and provides a reliable remote communications link.

The Phantom has an integrated flight dynamics system, the Naza-M + GPS multi-rotor autopilot system, as well as the dedicated remote controller and receiver. Flight parameters and functions have been setup before delivery, so you can fly your Phantom the moment you receive it. The proven stability of the Naza-M autopilot system allows you to easily achieve a truly amazing flight performance.

With the built-in Naza-M autopilot system plus a GPS module, the Phantom has GPS Attitude and Attitude Control Mode. You can easily switch between the two modes and achieve an amazingly stable flight experience in either mode.

The Phantom also has the Intelligent Orientation Control (IOC) function of the Naza-M autopilot system. Usually, the forward direction of a flying multi-rotor is the same as the nose direction. By using Intelligent Orientation Control (IOC), wherever the nose points, the forward direction has nothing to do with nose direction: In course lock flying, the forward direction is the same as a recorded nose direction. In home lock flying, the forward direction is the same as the direction as the direction from home point to the multi-rotor.

The Phantom also has the failsafe function of the Naza-M autopilot system. This means when the communication between the Main Controller and the transmitter is disconnected, the outputs of all command sticks from controller will go to the center position. If the GPS signal is good enough, the PHANTOM will automatically fly home and land safely.

The Phantom also has two levels of low voltage protection, a function of the Naza-M autopilot system. It prevents your multi-rotor from crashing or other harmful consequences caused by low battery voltage. When the battery hits the first level of protection, the LED indicator blinks red to warn you. In the second level protection the system will trigger the Phantom to land automatically.

The maximum horizontal flight speed of the Phantom can reach 10m/s and the maximum vertical speed is 6 m/s. The perfect combination of speed and stability makes flying the Phantom pure joy.

Under each arm of the Phantom are super high intensity LED indicators which are used to help you to see the orientation during flight (day and night.)

The Phantom has an external removable camera mount for you to mount a GoPro camera. This makes the PHANTOM an incredibly powerful and affordable aerial photography and video solution.

The Phantom includes a 3S LiPo battery and a balance charger. With the all-in-one design and light airframe, the flying time can last up to a whopping 15 minutes before the battery needs to be recharged.

Phantom first flight Review by JP

Just got my phantom yesterday, got it assembled , charge the battery and I was in the air in 35 minutes.
never flown a quadcopter before, only flown the small RC helicopter , and believe me...this is truly very, very easy to fly.
this is a real breakthrough in RC flying.
I will have some fun with it, actually I already have accumulated 20 gigs of pics and movies...and I will eventually upgrade to the phantom 2, vision.
many thank for your courteous services at Flying Cameras.

Review of my second Phantom Review by Jens
I ordered and received in perfect condition via overnight delivery, my second Phantom from Flying Cameras. I'll call this one Phantom Bravo...

The aircraft performed perfectly right out of the box. The great staff at Flying Cameras was extremely helpful... Lisa processed my order very efficiently and their Techs on my request updated the Firmware and activated the IOS system before shipping it to me. Brad was also extremely helpful in giving me excellent technical information and setup tips in an email exchange we had after placing the order.

I test flew it yesterday for the first time and its performing perfectly, the Phantom is a very easy machine to fly, quite forgiving and its capabilities are nothing short of amazing. After three flights, I am now as confident with this new Phantom as I am with the first one I bought, Phantom Alpha...

I just took it easy on the first few flights, max altitude of about 150 feet and conducted flight control tests, Phantom Bravo has passed with flying colors...

I wish to again thank the entire staff at Flying Cameras and also to DJI the makers of the Phantom for the best service, experience and quality I have ever seen.

I highly recommend the Phantom and Flying Cameras, they have been so helpful to me, and as they say themselves on their Website their customers are more like a club or family, and I fully agree. I have been treated very warmly and given excellent advice and service.

You absolutely can't go wrong in doing business with Flying Cameras or the DJI Phantom Drone. I guarantee you will not be disappointed, but probably like myself will feel you got more than you imagined possible...

I will continue to do business with Flying Cameras for years to come.

Perfect DIY Drone Review by William
When I first saw this at a Trade Show at the FlyingCameras booth I was really quickly impressed by the completeness of the drone. Even my wife, normally a little more fiscally prudent, saw very quickly that my Birthday, Christmas, and even Anniversary presents were all taken care of -;)

When I got the chance to closely examine my own Phantom and compare it to other similar devices on the market (especially the Parrot AR Drone) I was even more impressed: My favourite feature is the return-to-home feature so that , in the case of any loss of control or other disaster - the aircraft will come back to you like an intelligent self-powered boomerang.

This is accomplished by an internal GPS, Internal Compass, and even internal barometric altimeter. It's fascinating to watch it realise that something is not right and then make all the self corrections to get back to you safely.

The range on the device is an impressive 300m or more unlike WiFI or Bluetooth toys with their very limited field of operation. This is a semi-professional camera platform which just "looks" like a toy.

It's also fast - capable of speeds of 10m/s (nearly 40km/h) sideways flight and a climb rate of 3m/s (nearly 10 km/h) this is a really powerful little platform.

Post Purchase I have added two options to the platform including the FPV SCOUT (the ability to see what the camera sees, in real time while flying) and the DJI Zenmuse Gimbal for the Hero3 GoPro camera (provides super stable jitter-free steerable camera control).

Finally - if anything bad should ever happen to your drone - the expert and sympathetic team at Flying Cameras have all the tools, technology, and expertise to get you flying again as quickly as possible. (Posted on 9/28/13)

Exceeded Expectations Review by JP
I recently purchased a Phantom and spares from FC with the goal of using it with a Hero 3 to map shallow water and foreshore shipwrecks. Other, online reviews suggested we'd have an issue running a Hero 3 White and warned about the "jello effect" due to vibration and slower frame speeds.

We were very pleased with the unit, and I can discuss three things we learned during our test flights. First, the unit was very easy to assemble and fly. It took perhaps an hour to READ THE DIRECTIONS, put the hardware together for the first time, charge the battery, and take her up. I am not a RC person, but the Phantom was very easy to control in the air, provided you kept it oriented properly so the right hand control stick would behaved logically. Most of our trials were run over grass at 6-12' elevation, so the learning process was low risk. The blade guards are a must.

Second, the autopilot worked perfectly when we ran the batteries low once about 40' up. As advertised it took over and flew the Phantom back to base, and landed it. Given we're going to be flying this unit over shallow water on occasion, that is an important safety feature - if we lose orientations and control, rather than fly it into the ground, you can turn it over to the autopilot, and it should sort things out.

Third, we found there was no jello effect when we used this unit straight out of the box, with a Hero 3 white. It flies smoothly and our first videos will do the job for our mapping purposes.

One final thing. The unit took a while to arrive but FC has been prompt to answer queries and discuss solutions.

In summary don't get too worried about the Phantom being a good value. It is worth the money - lightweight but not a toy - and we will be mapping with it in the Yukon in two weeks. The durability question is still an unknown that can't be prejudged, so I will let everyone know about that aspect later in the season. (Posted on 9/28/13)
Great Quad. Now I'm thinking of the s800.... Review by Odi
First off. The only RC I ever played with is a car. Never flew anything except for a kite and even that is only in two occasions. After unboxing I was ready to balance the props and all but it all came balanced or I was just extremely lucky. I mounted my go pro hero 3 black with it's underwater casing just in case. My camera settings are as follows: 1080p, 60fps, medium. I did not have the "jello" effect using these settings. No vibration dampening was added to the system although I have to see where to buy sorbothane (correct spelling?) . Also, Flying Cameras' tech support is fantastic. Great job! (Posted on 9/28/13)
Amazing! Review by Patrice
After entering the world of FPV 1 year ago, I wanted to have something more stable. I've been flying helicopter for the last 10 years so a multi-copter was a better option over a plane.
I'm a big fan of ARF kit. Being new to multi copter, the DJI phantom was the best choice. With all the feature included for the price you can't be wrong.
The quad is totally AMAZING to fly! It's way more fun than you can imagine !
The GPS feature is a must when doing FPV and it works flawlessly. Packaging was perfect and FlyingCameras has an outstanding customer service! (Posted on 9/28/13)
Great products & excellent service Review by Inuk
Even though I am located way at the other end of the country (atlantic coast), I have purchased the Phantom, 3d gimbal for Hero3 and other Phantom accessories. I deal mostly through the web, and James and Brad have been providing a prompt and knowledgeable service, which is key for the way i do business and with regards to the distance!

Free shipping in Canada is another reason I have decided to do business with Flying Cameras.

Am considering the FPV setup and potentially a second unit in the near future!

I really enjoy flying the Phantom, it's very stable and can take some wind. I look forward to installing the gimbal along with the Gopro Hero3 and snap some stabilized shots! (Posted on 9/28/13)
Incredible Review by Peter d
For anyone considering buying the DJI Phantom, 100% go for it. You will not regret it. The thing is an incredible machine, the things it is capable of are incredible.

When I was considering purchasing the Phantom, I won't lie, I had my doubts over all of the hype and was very unsure about spending this sort of money on a 'toy'. Will it really come back to where it started if it loses connection with the remote? Can it actually fly 300 meters away? Does it actually know how to maintain position while wind is blowing against it? Is it really that easy to fly?

After I finally had the guts to buy it I could not wait. When it arrived and I assembled it I went for the first flight. In a big field of course. After figuring out how to start it up, I was flying. It's so easy to fly it is crazy. It's speed is incredible and being able to navigate anywhere in such an easy manner is truly amazing. Oh, and the 300 meter range, well I flew it up to the point I could no longer see the thing it's that ridiculous! Now, I've done many flights and I've had the guts to fly it far over the ocean, which means at the beginning of every flight I say goodbye incase the worst happens but I have yet to be even close to out of control. I've turned off the remote and and it does indeed come back to where it started, I've flown it in heavy winds and it does lean into the wind to maintain it's position. I have no clue at all how it does any of this, but it truly is a sensation to watch.

Oh, I forgot to mention that when I was looking at the Phantom I was worried I'd have to buy from a big american company and have to pay way extra for living a cracking 5km from the border. Then I found Flying Cameras, and I have to say they have astonished me in their business. HUGE thanks to James R on the website for answering all of my questions. The customer support this company has unbelievable. Thank you Flying Cameras.

I'll probably buy the new Zenmuse Gimbal when I get the money as it looks to make something that's already an 11/10 even better.

To anyone considering buying the Phantom, you only live once and the memories you'll get from this thing will be unforgettable. Just do it. Also, get some extra batteries and the case, you'll understand why when you begin flying. (Posted on 9/28/13)
Phantom is Fabulous.....but learn from one of my mistakes. Review by KoombaSSI
I've only had my Phantom a couple of weeks. I also purchased the Scout FPV package, so my Phantom came already assembled....thanks Brad. I've never flown any RC craft before and I am already hooked. I've set myself the goal of becoming very skilled at flying this machine and treating with the care it deserves. Others here have commented on the excellent customer service from Brand and James. I add my own as well. Brad has ben my main contact and he has been tireless handling all my questions. Response time.......really fast! I do have one word of caution here concerning the draining of the Lipo batteries. I wanted to test the Phantom's ability to land itself with a critical low battery situation. It performed as advertised......a nice smooth landing. Once home I started to setup my Scout FPV and following the setup instructions, I plugged in one of my drained batteries to the LCDS screen while charging the other two batteries. After about an hour the battery on the screen totally shut down. When trying to charge it would not accept the charge. Speaking with Brad, he informs me that Lipo batteries CAN BE DAMAGED if they are completely drained (as one of mine was). I've had to order a replacement and FC is giving me a credit towards the purchase. So folks, beware not to completely drain the batteries. (Posted on 9/28/13)
